A community-powered catalyst for positive change in Stockport.
The Goodness Collective CIC is a Community Interest Company based in Stockport. We have supported and been part of many of Stockport’s key community focused initiatives from Sector3’s inception, to the first local cross sector network, from community soup events, to social enterprise support programees.
Our Wave of Change programme works directly in and with communities to ensure those who might miss out on opportunities and our towns growth are encouraged and included. Supporting women who are key to the health and wellness of our local communities, systems and structures.
We’ve been focused too on bridging the gap between local business needs and community requirements, which benefits both the community and the businesses themselves through our Social Value work, advisory support services and network developments such as the Proper Good Business Club and Stockport first Social Enterprise Conference.
"Simone empowers women to be their best version of themselves. She has supported hundreds of women over the years through mentoring, coaching, her work with The Goodness Collective and The Wave of Change Programme.
She champions all women and tailors her support around their needs, working on the belief that we all have everything we need to achieve what we want to within us. She supports women to build their confidence so that they can recognise their awesomeness, overcome their limiting beliefs and do their thing.
Then she elevates them, she connects them to people and spaces to support them to do their thing. She’s truly an incredible force for good."

"I don’t know where I would be on my enterprise journey if it wasn’t for Simone’s support , guidance and wisdom. Over the last 18 months, her support has enabled me to identify and make decisions for my best interests of the organisation.
This has also meant putting myself first in the fierce and exhausting world of funding and entrepreneurship.
I have learnt to take my foot off the gas and align myself where I am valued and encouraged as an individual and the networks Simone has connected me to have allowed me to feel safe, nurtured and valued."

But how do we actually do it?
By using our creativity, community place making curiosity and our passion and connections to bring together communities in a way that benefits everyone involved. For example, we help companies find ways to engage with local voluntary, community, and social enterprises by donating time, skills, or funding.
We integrate purpose with profit by assisting businesses in aligning their business goals with a commitment to making a positive impact locally. We empower the social enterprise sector to own their own value and skill and exchange it in a financially impactful way.
We facilitate meaningful and sustainable relationships across sectors and on the ground with individuals. Systems change requires a conduit between the broken parts and the individuals that the system is broken for. We bridge the divide.
As a Community Interest Company, our core purpose is to benefit the community, not generate private profit. Our assets are legally locked to ensure they are used for social objectives that link with our mission.
That ‘Spark Positive Change’. We identify the challenges in our borough and then we bring cross sector partnership together around a shared and impactful solution.
Empowering Women in Stockport
Our Wave of Change programme is a supportive, encouraging and uplifting programme for Stockport women. Women who are out of work, or feeling lost or facing multiple barriers to creating the best versions of themselves and taking positive steps forward. We designed, developed and deliver it with our partners over at PIE: Pursuing Individual Excellence.
Consultancy project partnering with Sector3
At The Goodness Collective we are all about ‘Sparking Positive Change’. We believe when communities are better connected that magic things begin to happen. It’s why for the past 4 years we’ve been leading on ‘Proper Good’. A partnership with Sector3 and funded by Access Foundation and Better Society Capital. We bring Social Enterprise together to learn, build, grow, collaborate and thrive in our local area and we support them to make links that add real value to the Social Enterprise sector and the Social Economy landscape as a whole.
"The Proper Good programme has always been much more than goal setting and creating a kick-ass tool kit of positive network buddies, affirmative action and strong self belief.
I was winning in all areas when a family trauma derailed me. My priorities and confidence were challenged. Simone’s support throughout this period enabled me to remain focused on what I myself needed and to set positive goals and actions, giving me the courage to change direction and move forward."

“The Proper Good programme has offered so much more than practical advice — it’s been a source of genuine cheerleading and encouragement. That heartfelt support has helped us value our offering as a creative social enterprise, grow as people, and reach our potential.
Proper Good is that positive pebble that helps ripple out the uplifting impact - to our Stockport community and beyond.”
